Teaching Background

Teaching Philosophy

Megan proudly embraces the philosophy of music education developed by Japanese violinist, Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, known as the Suzuki Method. Core to his philosophy is the fact that all children have incredible potential to learn, do so joyfully in a nurturing environment with their supportive parents, and develop fine human traits in the process of discovering their creativity and artistry.

With these pillars guiding Megan's teaching, she has found deep connection with children and parents as they work together in a 3-way team to help the student reach not only their musical potential, but their human potential as well. Megan knows that excellence can only be reached with discipline, work ethic, and high standards and a heavy dose of patience, vision, and humor.
